Vnö Kek Ner (/vno˞/ /kek/ [olive] [hobby]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Bk-78kzel Zone, Berěbudbǐb District, within the Federation of Alveria.

The name Vnö Kek Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Vnö Kek Ner was founded by Dyënh Ezaenzo, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Vnö Kek Ner has a yearly average temperature of 17°C (62°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 9°C (48°F). Vnö Kek Ner receives an average of 298 cm/y (117 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Vnö Kek Ner covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3920 m (12860 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Vnö Kek Ner was founded durring the early 15th century in winter of the year 1428, by Dyënh Ezaenzo. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Vnö Kek Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Vnö Kek Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Vnö Kek Ner is was constructed arround several restrictive paverstone mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The town's minimaly adiquite have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Vnö Kek Ner is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. You get the terrible feeling that whatever it was, the wound it left will simply never heal. This town is as a necropolice.

Civic Infrastructure

Vnö Kek Ner possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Vnö Kek Ner has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Vnö Kek Ner. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Vnö Kek Ner's parks.

Vnö Kek Ner has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Vnö Kek Ner.

Vnö Kek Ner has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Vnö Kek Ner has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Vnö Kek Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Vnö Kek Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Vnö Kek Ner possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Vnö Kek Ner's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.

Vnö Kek Ner possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Vnö Kek Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Vnö Kek Ner's natural decorations nor waterways.

Vnö Kek Ner has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Vnö Kek Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Vnö Kek Ner has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

A substantial minority of the locals are descended from foreigners alien to their local neighbors. They may have been religious exiles, economic migrants, indigenous locals surrounded by the existing polity, or a foreign settlement conquered within the relatively recent past. The locals may not be enthusiastic about being ruled by others not of their kind, and their neighbors may look askance at the way foreign customs or even laws may be maintained.

Vnö Kek Ner's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by order, symmetry, formal design, grandiosity, and elaborate ornamentation. Architectural characteristics include balustrades, balconies, columns, cornices, pilasters, and triangular pediments. Stone exteriors are massive and grandiose in their symmetry; interiors are typically polished and lavishly decorated with sculptures, swags, medallions, flowers, and shields. Interiors will often have a grand stairway and opulent ballroom..

In Vnö Kek Ner hail is always enormous, yet harmlessly plinks off people, creatures, and structures.

The Tigrilla near Vnö Kek Ner are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Vnö Kek Ner's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves gestures to channel Summoning energies of tier 3 via throat chanting.
